For my Self Portrait I decided to use a buck. It not only a resemblance of being free, but also the will of being cautious and masculine. The outdoors is the place where I belong.
Why did I create this art piece? What does it mean to me? The reason I created this was to show how I think of myself as. A buck means pride and caution of his decisions. Since I was a kid I've always admired deer. The outdoors is the home where I belong. I enjoy their lifestyle and the way how they react in nature. The idea I am representing in my Surrealism Project was the idea about football. There's two different kinds of sports with the title "football or futbol". So i came up with the idea of combining them together to make up a sport that didn't make sense.
How would I like the viewer to respond when they look at my artwork? What emotions do I wish to convey? I want the to to be surprised when they see my artwork. I want them to notice how the football is going into the wrong kind of goal. This resembles the idea of two sports. If you viewer will notice that I drew my own goal and background, and that the football and The Rock are from magazines. I wanted to put in more people like soccer players and more football players, but it's difficult to find all that. Therefore, I made it work with what I have. In my light art project I decided to use the idea of "light weight". Instead of trying to come up with an image for physical light to see with. I came up with the idea to use a powerlifter lifting light weight. Personally I think that it's better than being the usual.
This art piece i created not only represents a figure of weight but also represents my character. The finishing project didn't really turn out how I wanted it too. I was hoping to add more details in the art. An example would be that I wanted to add Texas flags in the background, and get more detailed on the weights and the character's clothing, but that would take too long and I probably would've finished it. Mainly I was trying to invent a masculine guy that would be someone worth paying attention too. The idea is to make people proud to be a Texan and that this guy will represent what kind of people true Texans are. It shows that Texans are a strong kind of people that stand high in what they believe in and would defend that belief with the pride that they have. Therefore, who wouldn't be proud to be a Texan. Sound Artist Statement
My image for my sound project is a tire doing a spinout. The idea I’m trying to portray was for the tire to being kicking up dust and show that the tire is spinning excessively fast. My whole purpose is to place the sound in the viewer’s ear to hear how the tire sounds as it’s spinning. How long should my artist statement be? I’m required to have around 3 paragraphs but I think that I should write as much as I can about the topic. I believe the longer I write and the more effort I put in, then my statement should be worth reading. My general guidelines should be simple because I’m basically describing my efforts and techniques I used to create my sound project. In my art I focus on using charcoal and shading. The details aren’t as simple as they look. I’m trying to make everything look realistic with the shading and lighting but I don’t know how it’s going to work out . |
